Getting to Derbyshire

If you want to enjoy some greenery to relax yourself, you can head out to one of the lovely counties in the East Midlands of England. You can opt to stay there for a weekend of sightseeing or for several days of nature tripping. But how do you get there? Here are your choices.

  • Rail. There is an abundance of train networks connecting Derbyshire from Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester, Sheffield, and London. Getting there from the UK's capital city alone only takes less than two hours aboard the Virgin Trains, Central Trains, Network Rail, or the Midland Mainline. Or you can go by;
  • Road. Trips heading to Derbyshire are scheduled on a regular basis. If you are on the A5, A38, A50, and A52 highways, you can easily again access to public transportation. Basically, you can choose from the following carriers to take you to the county: National Express, Arriva Buses, and Trent Barton. If you are on the M1 junction 24 or 25, you will only spend fifteen minutes to reach Derby.
  • Air. The airports closest to the county are found in Nottingham (15 minutes), Sheffield (48 minutes), Birmingham (50 minutes), and Manchester (90 minutes). Usually, shuttles are provided in East Midlands to take the tourists to the city centre.

So, if you are planning to go to Derby and its neighbouring cities, you can always make early arrangements with your preferred passenger carrier. Call them ahead of time to carefully plan out your travel.
